Sorry, you're right. I thought that was a tiny exception that confused more than clarified. I knew about it, but it was late in the life cycle and very little of the code written for the box used program calls. An example of other little known stuff, I knew a guy who patched the SSP WTGT ("where to go table") to do some cool stuff with printers. It was always possible to do this kind of thing, just out of the reach of most 36 programmers. You could also buy an assembler language compiler for the 36 but most people didn't have it or know how to use it. Minor technicality, but ASNA's compiler add-on allowed it and IBM eventually added it toward the end of its life. -mark +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
