A question for you: Are you using Y as the field on the DDS or are you using S? Y gives a much better behaved application. It deals with issues like edited fields so a field can be displayed with a EDTCDE(J $) and the user can type into the field in a normal fashion. It allows a user to type into a mm/dd/yy field and not get all messed up. Yes. VaRPG understands Lostfocus. No, there is not a Validate Event. Events on an entry field include the mouse events, keypress, vkeypress, popup, link, gotfocus, change, click, drop, and create or destroy. _______________________ Booth Martin Booth@MartinVT.com http://www.MartinVT.com _______________________ Torbjörn Görtz <torbjorn.gortz@swipnet.se> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 06/16/2000 07:10 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: <RPG400-L@midrange.com> cc: Subject: Re: Did the user press Enter or Field+ Thank you Doug. I think the CHANGE() keyword together with the cursor position will tell me what I need. Now I can tell the difference between Enter and Field+ on an empty field (with Auto Advance). > Put a different indicator on every field (yuck!) No problem. This program teknik I only use in some important parts of the displays. > but won't keep users from doing things like partially > filling a field and pressing Tab or whatever. I know, this could be a problem on some displays. But if it is right adjusted fields, the users are partly forced to use the Field+ key, so in that case it is normally no problem. By the way, do you code in VA RPG? Are there any LostFocus or Validate events like in Visual Basic?
