I discovered that quite some time ago when I was STUMPED with a problem. In desperation, I changed from *ZERO to 0, and the problem went away. At the time, I was convinced this was a bug (and as far as I'm concerned it still and really is!), but it turns out that this has to do with figurative constants not being accepted. I spoke with IBM about this. I think their solution is to add documentation to that effect.
