As a side comment on eRPG and serving web apps. I am 50% done reading eRPG by
Brad Stone. Great book. I don't mind saying that Brad did us all a favor by
writing it.

If you are interested in writing Browser Programs and have an RPG back ground,
Brad removes alot of mystery from the subject. It doesn't seem that nebulous
anymore.

Writing RPG-CGI programs at this point seem very easy. Better tools may exist
(I don't know)
However at this point(50% done with the book) it seems kinda like writing
screen programs
by reading/understanding/keying in the DDS before you start learning SDA.
I feel like
I have a better understanding of what's going on with things like Net.Data and
the like(they seem
more like the SDA approach).

This may not have that much to do with the current thread, But I would very
much recommend
buying a copy of the book and reading it. You may be surprised at how easy it
is to write this
stuff.

You can move on to Java, Websphere and others later, BUT you can be productive
now
with your current skill set.

No, this is not a paid adverstisement. I just really liked the book.
John Carr
P.S. remember Hans and Barb don't write business apps in RPG,
Don't think they ever did(? to my knowledge),
They write the RPG compiler.
