No. its probably a matter of misunderstanding on my part. I tend to think of the Midrange List as being more for the operations and management aspects of the AS/400. For instance, I'd think that list was the place for comments and questions about IBM marketing & advertising, security, policy, model characteristics, management and training, connectivity, the internet and software packages. I think of the RPG list as being more for language and database questions. For instance I would consider this the right list for questions and comments about CL, COBOL, DDS, FMTSRC, and REXX, but not Java or Code/400. _______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ "Simon Coulter" <shc@flybynight.com.au> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 04/15/2000 11:05 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: RPG400-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: Seeing a file on the IFS in V3R7 Ð Hello Booth, Still more non-RPG questions .... is that because there is so much clutter on MIDRANGE-L the question has more chance of being seen here? I think the EDTF or EDTSTMF tool was provided in QUSRTOOL on V3R7. It's not one of the TAATOOLS so you should have it. As I recall it was provided in C source but you could download a compiled version from IBM -- search the Rochester site for EDTF or EDTSTMF or DSPSTMF. Hopefully the save file is still kicking around. To use SEU you'll need to copy the data from the IFS to a source member. Use the CPYFRMSTMF command. You can also use any PC tool that can see the IFS mapped as a PC drive.
