Proportional fonts are horrible for reports.

The solution I have used in the past is to use tab stops on the printer to
set the left margin of each of the columns. But then you have a heck of
a time sending the codes to the printer to set the margins. I've done this
on a laserjet from a PC before.

The best soution, IMO, is to go to your printer, print out all the fonts it
has loaded, cross off all the proportional fonts only leaving the fixed width
fonts, then taking that to the person requesting you change to arial and state
this is the list of the fonts you can print to, which one do they want? Arial
is no good because it is not a fixed width font.
