You must have the FTP service started on target system, try FTP from your
PC. Where can be made FTP from your PC, must be the AS/400 able to do the
same. Maybe you should look on IP restriction (or port restrictions) on
firewall, if used. Enjoy !

Not sure if this is a RPG400-L question but since the thread has been
started...

Does anyone know why I am able to FTP to another AS/400 on my network but if
I try the IP address of any other device on that network, NT-server, PC etc,
the AS/400 won't communicate with it. It gives me an error like "unable to
connect at this time. Try again later." Of course, "later" never comes. I
am able to FTP from these other devices to the AS/400 in question. I can
also ping the other devices from the AS/400.
TIA
Sam Kanakanui

 << File: justin.vcf >> << File: STG05334.dat >> On a command line on the
AS/400 type FTP. It works just like FTP does
anywhere else, mostly. The Help on the AS/400 is very useful.

I'm sure this one has been asked before, but I have to ask it.
What is the best way (In Your Humble Opinions) to use FTP to transfer
AS400 data files to other boxes such as Unix.

Thanks in advance

Justin Kiteley
