Sam

You can do FTP to any server provided two things are confirmed.

1. First of all at the other end, FTP service should be started, this should be
done by changing the set up. This service will come as Microsoft services.

2. Another important point to be considered is that, the server should not have
any firewall, even if it has, then authority should be given for that particular
IP address, from which you are trying to connect to the NT Server.

Hope it helps,

Thanks,

Not sure if this is a RPG400-L question but since the thread has been
started...

Does anyone know why I am able to FTP to another AS/400 on my network but if
I try the IP address of any other device on that network, NT-server, PC etc,
the AS/400 won't communicate with it. It gives me an error like "unable to
connect at this time. Try again later." Of course, "later" never comes. I
am able to FTP from these other devices to the AS/400 in question. I can
also ping the other devices from the AS/400.
TIA
Sam Kanakanui

 << File: justin.vcf >> << File: STG05334.dat >> On a command line on the
AS/400 type FTP. It works just like FTP does
anywhere else, mostly. The Help on the AS/400 is very useful.

I'm sure this one has been asked before, but I have to ask it.
What is the best way (In Your Humble Opinions) to use FTP to transfer
AS400 data files to other boxes such as Unix.

Thanks in advance

Justin Kiteley
