Jim, if you do rename, consider using a name besides the Company name. The AS/400 is part of the www, even if once removed from it, and so should align with that, imho. Therefore "Conex" becomes much to valuable to assign to that AS/400. Your servers probably already have a naming scheme, so the AS/400 can just fit in there as another server in the scheme of Conex. This is of course, just an opinion. _______________________ Booth Martin boothm@earth.goddard.edu http://www.spy.net/~booth _______________________ Jim Langston <jlangston@conexfreight.com> Sent by: owner-rpg400-l@midrange.com 02/23/2000 01:37 PM Please respond to RPG400-L To: RPG400-L@midrange.com cc: Subject: Re: System name RTVSYSVAL QSRLNBR would work for us, but only because we do not "rename" our AS/400's, but call them by their serial number. I understand there is somewhere you can rename them, and we are able to use a friendly name in QSNADS but I am not really sure where that is stored, to be honest. I would like to know how to get it "named" to the friendly name in our system, though, so that our sign in screen would have "CONEX" instead of our serial number.
