If the formula file key includes the formula, you could use the infds with
setll to get the key information and parse out the formula from records
where you get a hit.  This assumes that all of the information required
will fit in the area reserved for key information.  No chain required.
Definitely needs to be documented in the code. 

I like the array solution better although single level storage can do some
interesting things for performance.
