Take a look at the new RPGIV redbook Jon's been talking about. It has some very clear examples and explains the whys and the syntax well. I guarantee that learning the syntax of declaration (prototype), definition (procedure code and interface), and calls is both very easy and the most difficult part. It's one of those things that takes more than five minutes and less than a week. Once you get the syntax down, you'll start thinking of all the places you can use them. In terms of massive usefulness, they rank right up there with your towel. > -----Original Message----- > From: boothm@earth.Goddard.edu [mailto:boothm@earth.Goddard.edu] > Sent: Thursday, February 03, 2000 8:33 AM > To: RPG400-L@midrange.com > Subject: Re: Using % type functions > > > Hans, I'd love to use the example in this post but I don't > understand it. > Learning them out of book is not easy.
