Hi Jim,

I've just read in the MSDN (CD 3) that the INET control does not support
ASCII-type file transfer and that the suggested workaround is to call the
windows FTP api's directly (which is what the INET control apprantly
does!). The transfer type can be set through this way prior to transfer.
Actually, I've been putting off sockets programming now for some months.
Seems like a good time to learn it (although I am pressed for time on this
project).

This reminds me. Scott Klemment, if you are reading this, I do seem to
remember you writing about a mini-tutorial you had compiled containing
RPGIV code which uses the c-type api's for sockets programming. If you have
some time available, would you please send me the zip file. I have started
RTFM 'ing and, as per usual, the examples I see are all written in C.

Regards
John.

It sounds to me like you have a VB problem with the internet.
It seems to me as if you are not FTPing the file correctly. I
would suggest trying it on another FTP server (your home
page, a free home page somewhere, tons of places to get
an FTP site to upload to) and see if it works there.

If it doesn't work there, you have narrowed down your
problem. If it does work on other FTP servers and just not
an AS/400 FTP server then it would be an AS/400 problem,
but at this point it doesn't sound like it.

Regards,

Jim Langston
