There are some options when you restore from a different serial number.  If you 
do not 
'take defaults' then there is a way to get all of your network attributes, 
system values 
and the like.  Also, starting with some of the newer versions of OS/400, there 
is an 
option when doing the complete restore to say you are restoring to a different 
machine.  
This changes the command defaults.  Otherwise certain configs will toast your 
machine!!!.  
These are two separate items I mentioned.  Read the Backup and Recovery Guide 
carefully.  
Speaking from memory, I think you want checklist 17.

Not sure on the attention light.  Read the Problem Handling manual for a 
description of 
error codes.  However the Backup and Recovery Guide will have a plethora of 
codes in that 
also.

When you get an attention light, you'll often get an SRC code on the front of 
the
machine.  An example is A600 1234.  You need to enclose that with your emails.

Subject:        Restoring system

We are trying to restore an entire system from a tape.  The tape have entire
system save on it.  It is coming from another system.  We did a manual ipl
with option D  It read as 01 D in display.  It seems it hang and trouble
light keep coming up.  Any ideas? Can we restore a system from other box
like this?
