New RPG Redbook

This is being sent to my "favorite" AS/400 lists plus a few folks who sent me
suggestions etc.

For those of you who haven't seen it yet, the new RPG Redbook is currently
available as a Redpiece on the IBM Redbooks site (www.redbooks.ibm.com and
follow the Redpieces link - the books reference number is SG24-5402-00).

It is a sad fact of life that the more work we did on the book the more we
realized that there was to do!!  There is a very finite limit to what can be
achieved in 6 weeks!  I don't think any of us are completely happy with the
result but it is still a very good book (particularly my bits <grin>) and covers
in one place a lot of ground that would otherwise require a lot of searching.
The "real" version should be ready about the beginning of December - just in
time for Christmas!  The Redpiece version is a "draft" I don't know if it has
been updated to the latest draft or if it is still the October one.

Now here's your part in all this. It has been a while since an RPG Redbook was
produced and we need to convince IBM that there is still a lot to do. So, make
sure you download it, buy it, etc. AND please give IBM feedback (via the
website) on what is good, bad, missing from it.
