There is a DDS keyword "CHECK(VN)" that will check for a valid AS/400 object name. William K. (This file can later be used for transfer to a PC). The problem I'm having at the moment is validating the name being input as being in an acceptable name format for the AS/400. I've looked at a CL program to CHKOBJ and MONMSG where the name is not valid, but can't help thinking there must be another way. Would any API be applicable? I appreciate any help you can give on the subject Graham Bailey +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +--- +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---
