Sorry but when reading about going to RPGIV from RPGIII I read about the
evals and caught the potential precision problem.  It delayed the conversion
for us.  We did not change everything to evals.  Why change working code,
but when changing the code we would convert the necessary lines to evals if
it was easier.

Understand this: I have yet to actually come across this problem, since
a lot of our code is old and doesn't use eval.

But think of the original person who posted this message.

And tell me, honestly, how many of you knew that EVAL would do this
before reading about it on this message list?  How many of you did not
know of it (like me).
