Ditto Jim,
It's not hard to use, It works great/perfect for what it was designed for.
If you are using a "Shell" program that has the basic boilerplate
(positioning, Filling,
Reading, etc) functions of a subfile already done, You should never have to
change anything'
or rethink it for every new program. (a standard SFL program takes me
about 1/2 of an hour usually. which is mostly SDA work on the column
headings, etc. but never the mechanics of the
SFL).

It just works.

If it doesn't(for , 90% of the basic add/change/delete CUA work-with type
programs) I would look
at your basic design criteria.

I realize sometimes(the other 1-10%) you have to read thru all subfile
records (DO RRN times,
with a CHAIN), but that shouldbe in the minority.

Just an opinion.
