Looks like the start of another readc/sflnxtchg war.  I agree with Dan.  I
doubt I've used readc in more than 10% of my subfile processing.  Maybe, in
my case, it has to do with trying to stick with what I understand and what
I'm likely to understand a week after I wrote the code. <g>
