I have used OPNQRYF for the same purpose since I first ran accross it 10 years ago... a very powerful to to sort and select the input you need.... example: opnqryf file(infile) qryslt(*all) keyfld((fld10)(fld5)(fld22)) .... There are a host of options that you can apply to allow you to limit the data as needed and it will accept variables from your clp. please be aware, I always do an over ride on the data base file to ensure that it has a shared open data path.... an installation left out this parameter and I spent two days recovering from the mess created by someone elses OPPS Ronald Nance Commerce Insurance Group Webster, MA. 01570 (508) 943-9000 Ext: 4078 rnance@commerceinsurance.com +--- | This is the RPG/400 Mailing List! | To submit a new message, send your mail to RPG400-L@midrange.com. | To subscribe to this list send email to RPG400-L-SUB@midrange.com. | To unsubscribe from this list send email to RPG400-L-UNSUB@midrange.com. | Questions should be directed to the list owner/operator: david@midrange.com +---END
