Yes, the result is = 4, I just tried it, nothing else to do, the %len obviously
doesn't count the null characters in the field after the %trim.

This is an interesting solution. I have not used variable
length fields yet. If FLD1 is 'ABCD ', would Length
in the following statement equal 4?
C Eval Fld1A = %Trim(Fld1)
C Eval Length = %Len(Fld1A)
