Re: Blank Supress

The way that I usually right justify the data in a character field is with the 
following code:

' '     SCAN    FLD1      X     1  0     (X will be = 5)
       EVAL    %SUBST(FLD2:8-X:X-1) = FLD1 (note: the 8 is the field length + 2)
also note: make sure that x > 1 before doing the eval or bombs away...

in your example my substring result would read %SUBST(FLD2:3:4) and then move 
FLD1 into that spot...
May not be the best way but until %TrimR works right, it'll do...

Hi everybody!


I have a very basic question .Is it possible to supress blanks in a 
charecter field?

For example :

           OPCODE         F2         RES

           MOVEL   'ABCD     ' FLD1       10A
           MOVE     FLD1       FLD2       10A

Is it possible to suppress the blanks & make the FLD2=
'   ABCD'  (Right justified)
