Scott, Count me in. We wrote a /COPY member to do this and would be happy to have an example for same in a service program. In our case we reserved a block of indicators. (array of switches) The Fxx keys were file level conditioned in the DDS so we could activate a Fxx key per panel without having to compile the DDS. The Fxx key text line at the bottom of the screen was built on the fly (a fixed two liner ... F24 toggle) based upon the activated indicators. It's worked very well for us to add function without shutting everyone down for a DDS compile. BTW, we've been searching our /COPY library for service program usage. This one is definitely a winner.
