>> I begin to understand that RPG-ILE could access C API's from release V3R7 and V3R2 with PTF's There are no specific PTFs needed for this functionality. The capability to access C type APIs came along with procedures in V3R2 and V3R6. V3R7 opened up a few more APIs (mostly the math library) because it added floating point to the RPG language. Some of the folks in Rochester are trying to get RPG examples coded for these types of functions, I've given them a bunch of mine as examples, but it will take time. They were hoping to put some sockets stuff into the V4R4 pubs, don't know if it made it. When you consider that A) They have no RPG programmers to speak of (strange as that may sound) and B) there are hundreds (thousands) of APIs to document, then it is hardly surprising that you haven't seen many examples yet. Perhaps David could give us an area on the web site where they could be collected ? * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * This is the RPG/400 Discussion Mailing List!
