My father has recently run into some trouble and
I'm trying to help him out.
His RPG2 programer was recently hospitalized and
he needs a part time consultant. I don't know if you or your friends on
your mailing list can be of assistance, but I thought I'd give it a shot, since
he can't seem to find anyone who knows his/her way around RPG2.
In case you can help, or point me in the right
direction, I'll pass along what he describes as the problem.
Thanks. -- Adam Forgash
PS- Here's what he e-mailed
me:
Problem: Company running medical
billing/information software no longer has sudden loss of programmer/operations
manager. No written documentation or run book. Some procedures need
to be run where a full understanding of the requested variables is lacking. Some
reports or procedures are required and there is insufficient understanding of
what program needs to be run to obtain the desired result. Periodic software
maintenance is required.
Background: Company has run RPGII on IBM
System/34 for 19 years. Recently migrated to IBM AS/400 in a System/34 or
/36 "environment". Company located in Fort Lee, New
Jersey.
Requirement:
Short
term-1. An understanding of some key procedures and programs so
daily and month end reports/operation can be
completed.
2. A person available for program
maintenance.
Long
term- 1. Documentation and creation of run book(task list). |
