Although I knew the expression and didn't find it confusing, I've never
really understood the fascination with Macs. ... Anything that I want/need
to do can be done in Windows or Linux on a generic laptop that probably
costs much less.

My initial reason for doing it was to be able to develop programs for
iPhones. For some reason, Apple has never released a compiler that runs on
Windows. Go figure! That said, like Jon Paris, I have never regretted
it.
