And that may be the rub, John. This printer is so bloody old; at
least 10 years. But it was a loaner (they had no use for it,
obviously) so my only investment was for toner and fusers
Sounds like a good excuse to go out and buy a decent printer. Heck,
might even get one with a scanner/copier; but, then, I wouldn't have
an excuse to bother my sister at work!

You might also want to make sure the printer has Win7 drivers before
trying the parallel-USB adapter. Some peripheral manufacturers used
the change in driver models that occurred when Vista came out (further
refined by Win7 &
8) as an opportunity to end support for older models (in an attempt to
