Peter,

Now that virtualization has been mentioned, I'll have to see if I can
get it to work with that.  Is virtualization included, or is it an
add-on that must be purchased, or at least installed?

I think dual boot mode is included (called Boot Camp) but for
virtualization you need to run something else such as VirtualBox
(free) or VMWare Fusion or Parallels. In all cases you must supply
your own copy of Windows.

Parallels is interesting in that you not only can run Windows in its
own virtual desktop (as is common with virtualization software) but
you can optionally just run Win32 programs side by side with OSX
programs on the same desktop or launch from the OSX dock. And drag
and drop between an OSX and Windows program. Or so they say -- my old
Macbook Pro is too underpowered to try it.
