I work part time for a Montessori school, and set up a web site that
allows teachers to select a student from their class list and have it
download an fdf that opens and partially fills in a pdf form. This
works great on all flavors of Windows, but when it comes to the Macs,
I've had nothing but problems.
Last year, a particular version of Apple's Preview program, the default
for filling out pdf forms, actually corrupted the pdf. I had to find a
fix it program to repair all the damaged forms.
This year, the latest OSx and Safari do not cooperate well; the only Mac
user able to open the forms this year was a teacher who had an old
version of OSx and Safari. Using Firefox, it goes into a loop opening
it over and over. Using Chrome, it still didn't work. According to the
Mac forums I visited, these are known problems; no fix in sight.
Now that virtualization has been mentioned, I'll have to see if I can
get it to work with that. Is virtualization included, or is it an
add-on that must be purchased, or at least installed?
