The V7 client will connect to any version of OS, although only the
functions that are supported by that OS level will work. I connect to a
V5R2 and V5R3 system all the time with no issues.
It is the 64bit that clobbered it. Use the 64bit version of IBM i
Access and you'll be good to go.
BTW: do not forget to install the fix package. You will be
disappointed if you don't.

Will a newer version of CA work with OS400 V5R2? Or if I have a newer
version of CA will it work with V5R2?
Al would be laughing at me right now for running V5R2.

I suggest you upgrade CA to the V7 version. There is a 64bit version
myit runs very well, as long as you load the service pack.
I also run Win7 Pro on my desktop in the office and Win7 Ultimate on
runlaptop. Both run V7 CA without too much trouble. The only issue I
Prointo is I can't get at the WAS console application from the servers
dialogs. IBM Support confirmed this was a problem that had not been
resolved yet.
