I've used GIMP (
http://www.gimp.org) It's free! Has a bit of a learning
curve, but it's supposedly as powerful as Adobe Photoshop.
I think you can also create animated GIFs with it.

The discusion about animated Gif's and PaintShop pro showed me that I'm not
the only one who loves that program.
At least, I did until Corel bought it.
What do you folks use to replace it? I've been using PaintShop Pro since it
was shareware and would fit on a single diskette. I need something to do
graphics with. Not really Photo stuff, but creating images, gradients, etc,
etc. Mainly, web stuff.
