I've been at DevCon, so I haven't jumped into any of the cool discussions about web architecture, because it takes too long just to type my response <grin>. But in this I hope I can add a little help quickly. It sounds like your MIDI experience is a little out of date, Walden. Almost any decent keyboard these days has 128-voice polyphony or more. I've seen lots of 256 and some even higher. Is it possible to use MIDI for this kind of thingThought about it some. The problem I see is that it's rare that MIDI
controls 192 "voices" at once. Most synths are polyphonic to a point,
but 8 to 16 voices is normally the max. I guess I could do it in groups
of 8, but there's still the question, what's the method of actually
controlling the valves? Still, an interesting idea, time to brush off my
old MIDI books.
