Ethereal is incredible - and may be under a different name, invaluable at times. Of course, you can always do a comm trace on the iSeries, too, but it does not do as much for you in the area of translating the packets into human-speak.

I've tried both Active and passive - no change.

As to logs - what logs? I see no mention of them in the toolbar or
elsewhere. The only thing in the messages window simply says that it
timed out waiting for a connection.

and b) get past jet lag!
