The Ethereal website http://www.ethereal.com/ still seems to be available so would people recommend to still use this software.

I've tried both Active and passive - no change.

As to logs - what logs? I see no mention of them in the toolbar or elsewhere. The only thing in the messages window simply says that it timed out waiting for a connection.
