As I said, I've never seen it light up (even in the presence of a

That LED is your wifi-finder, I think.

When you slide the switch forward, even if the system is powered off, it
will look to see if there are any wifi signals in range. The light
should go on if there are.

I've had my system for less than 24 hours, so I don't know all the in's
& outs of it yet.
