Does any one know of a way to legitimately take over a PC over the internet for trouble diagnosis ? Our daughter and her husband live in LA and were having some PC issues and it's a bit challenging to do it via the phone.
Windows XP remote desktop is pretty good. There's also a 'remote assistance' mode, but I've never tried that. I think it shows the desktop in one pane and a chat window in another. VNC is also good ... but I've experienced some problems with some applications not painting correctly. Neither app works well through a router though. I've heard good things about GotoMyPC, although I have no direct experience with it. Since it's browser based, I don't think it has any problems with routers. david
