× The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

Don't know if this is somehow related, but I have the same type of problem
when attempting to open a PDF that is hyperlinked in an Excel spreadsheet.
When I click on it, Acrobat opens and closes immediately.  I don't have that
problem with Word documents hyperlinked in Excel.

I looked at File Types within Windoze Explorer and nothing stands out
between .DOC and .PDF.  There's a DDE thingy, but I have no idea how to use
it.
