I've heard as much as 10,000 RPM is really recommended. Is anyone
even making 10,000 RPM disks for laptops yet? I have an older Toshiba
Satellite, and WDSC is pretty slow on my machine compared to some of
the desktops my guys have. The price of mobility.

Yeah, I'd be cautious on the preloaded software. I've heard that PC's at
some discount houses often come with a LOAD of extra software on them to
get you to try and buy.

Now, if you ever plan to go into WDSC with that PC, I've heard that disk
RPM can make a HUGE difference in the laptop arena. You sacrifice battery
for RPM perhaps. I ?think? the number I heard was 7400rpm is what is
desired.
