RE: Problem with Windows XP halting at startup...

Nothing like diagnosing the problem over the phone with a novice, rather
then in person :-) I picked the PC up from my friend Saturday morning (they
were heading out of town for the weekend) and fired it up and home and - no
hard drive spinning up... So I played around with it and same thing, it
tries but does not spin up. 

So I stick my Knoppix CD in and as usual I can see the drive just fine,
Windows SUCKS, and on we go. Go interrupted and didn't get much further than
that but plan to work on it today.
