   I have been using JV16 Power tools from Macecraft Software
   http://www.macecraft.com/.  It can be set to backup before removing, and
   seems to do an ok job.
   It is not too expensive, and has a lot of other nice tools with the
   registry cleaner.

     - This free version only fixes 50 items.

     - It doesn't back up the registry before it starts (every other fixer

     ever used does that - or at least suggests you do so - so it didn't
     occur to

     - It doesn't tell you what is wrong - so it is tough to tell whether the
     report is genuine or not

     Given the above I'm very reluctant to hand over the dollars for the full
     version.

     Any suggestions?
