Imaging a configured PC is pretty routine.  $25, Symantec Ghost, and a
CD/DVD burner or network drive or external can do this easily.  

But it's not protection from lousy usage habits and/or a poorly
configured machine.  It's really just a way of backing up and forcing a
restore.
