That has been my experience with Toshiba too Jeff (the good ones, not those Satellite's with the problem). And for the reputation for quality they have, I agree. They could easily have replaced these outright and avoided the lawsuit, bad press and ticked off owners. Not to mention all of the money they have spend replacing mother boards, the warranty and service charges, etc. Unreal... There is a class action lawsuit against Toshiba on these, of which we are a part. The system boards on these have all been replaced at least 4 times each, and some as many as 9 times each. I am not kidding. Fortunately, we purchased extended warranties thru Radio Shack and therefore Radio Shack is the one losing their a**, not us. Toshiba would be money way way ahead if they just bit the bullet and replaced those laptops.
