I'd go with the IBM ThinkPad. I Probably will not purchase another Toshiba (available at CostCo) because of their attitude towards operating systems that they didn't install. Eg: you are screwed and they will NOT help. Even if you just want to go from XP Home to XP Pro. No experience with Acer.
