I've not seen anything from MS that requires you to be an admin to run
(other that admin stuff like security policy editing.) But things like
office, visio, etc. No problem. 

I have seen third party products that require admin rights, but that's a
problem w/the third party product, not XP. I would imagine they had the
same problem on W2K, no? 

Now, to install some things you may need admin rights, yes, but isn't
that the idea, by making them not-an-admin you're removed the ability
for them to install crap? 

Can you give an example of a popular product that needs admin rights?
Perhaps we can find the issue. I know, for example, that QuickBooks had
an issue where it wanted rights to a registry key that a "normal person"
wouldn't have (this was years ago, don't ask which one) and granting
that access allowed QB to run fine.
