I cannot strongly enough try to persuade you NOT to install ME. It is a crippled version of 98, IMHO. If you want to get off 98, go to 2000 Pro, especially if the hardware is a little old. XP cannot use some old hardware.

Are there network connections on this laptop? If not, serial ones? You could get a serial datalink cable and transfer directly between 2 machines.

USB is not the best, IMO, with 98, certainly unless you have 98SE, which is better. It may not even be an option without 98SE.

Maybe someone has an external parallel port ZIP drive? Or USB is nothing else? At least 100meg per ZIP disk.

We do not have a network to work with.... that will be the ideal thing to do.

I do have Symantec 2004 Professional Edition but I do not know if that will
help.  I was planning also to format the drive and install WinME....I have the
original CD.
