When I said this is a solvable problem, I meant I already know how to get
the info myself, I just wanted to explore the option of getting ibm_db_dbi
fixed.

I'm hoping Kevin might offer a perspective with regard to that.

I'm not a C programmer and although I've used git a reasonable amount for
my personal endeavours, I've never contributed to an opensource project so
I thought I'd wait and see what kind of a response, if any, I got from that
quarter.

I'm certainly open to the idea of contributing to the project, but I might
need a little support/mentoring to do it...
