If you are doing PHP application development, it's a must have. If you are
just hosting a small web site or some open source application, not so much.
Maybe it's time for Perforce/RougeWave/Zend to realize there is a
market.....

It was inevitable really. Once the new approach to OS was in place this was
a natural.
Hopefully if it happens it will make Zend focus a bit more on the IBM i
market - for a commercial workload they still offer a value add.

I ran across another repo that i do not see listed on the IBM
opensource
site: ftp://openmax.duckdns.org/IBMi_Repo/
among other things it had php 7.3.8.
i downloaded a copy of the php and added the IBM odbc driver and a
simple example php page worked.
