I just remembered a gotcha with virtualenv. There is a work-around.


This is from Kevin Adler on Ryver:
We currently don't have a good way to pip install the toolkit or db2 adapter in to a virtual environment. You could download the source from here https://bitbucket.org/litmis/python-itoolkit/src/master/ and run pip install . from the directory. That should work.

Alternatively, you can enable the global pip environment to be accessed from your virtual environment with the --system-site-packages argument

I've used virtualenv on IBMi, and it worked fine. I've worked some with pipenv but not on IBMi. pipenv seems to be more popular choice for the Python crowd.
