I used to work for a large Third Party Hardware Maintenance Company many
years ago. One thing to make sure of is that who ever you pick has a clause
in the contact that states something to the effect.. If they can't fix it in
a timely manner, you can require them to have IBM fix it at no cost to you.
Depending on the vintage of the HW, they may not be able to get things like
'The System Password' that might be required say a when a motherboard is
replaced. Drives, Cards etc typically aren't problems. Having them in town
or willing to counter to counter parts if the system is down might be.

Is there anybody here using SEI (Service Express, Inc) for HW maintenance

I'm looking for lower priced alternatives to IBM and have a couple of
quotes. The IBM BP is the one suggesting SEI, whom I've never heard of
before. Their quote is $5,550 less than IBM and $3,773 less than ServIT.
The quote is so low it scares me. Yes it's 24x7.

Thanks.
