I installed Windows XP Pro on my home Dell Computer over the weekend. I followed the Dell instructions for a clean install (used debug instructions to completely wipe the drive) and everything went off without a hitch. I've reinstalled virtually all software without a hitch. But I have 2 problems: 1) The diskette drive now does not work properly. Whatever diskette I put in it says it is either unformatted or incorrectly formatted, and offers to format it for me. I graciously decline. <g> It doesn't 'feel' right when I insert a diskette, so it might be a hardware problem. But I did boot from diskette to do the debug script mentioned above. Formatting the hard drive to NTFS doesn't have any affect in the diskette drive, right? 2) My HP 722C printer won't print. It installs fine, but nothing ever comes out. If I send multiple documents to it, then monitor it, Windows thinks the documents are being printed. The status is continually updated document by document at about the speed the printer would actually print, but the printer never budges. I've installed it twice with the same results. The HP website states the driver is provided with XP and has no updates. My next step is to try a different printer cable though it seems odd that a cable would die at the same time as an OS upgrade. It seems more like a driver problem to me. Anyone seen anything like this? Thanks. -- Jeff Crosby Dilgard Frozen Foods, Inc. P.O. Box 13369 Ft.
