Martin, Sounds like you have a pretty good situation. Also, you wrote "No, unless overtime is agreed in advance with the client (to perform a specific task on evenings or weekends)." I think if you go into a job, and they tell you the story up front and you agree, then neither has much to complain about. The problems come up when the situation changes for the employer and/or the employee. My first job (hired in as part-time) I worked 80 hours the first two weeks. So I saw the situation. It was a great fit for me at that time, but later they gave me additional raises (above the annual %) by encouraging me to work less hours. Worked out well for both of us. Doesn't always.
